Unicorn Bait - By: S.A. Hunter

My Rating:
Book Description:
Naomi accidentally goes to another planet thanks to a unicorn horn. Unfortunately, the horn doesn't come with her, and she doesn't know any other way back home, but that's not her biggest problem. That would be her brand new husband, and he's kind of scary. Her only hope is a crazy witch who knows something about catching unicorns. Which would be fine and dandy except, it's the crazy witch who introduced her to her husband. And then RAN OFF. She's going to get her for that.

Unicorn Bait is a fun romp through a magical world filled with adventure, humor, and a little naughtiness.

My Thoughts:
My sister-in-law recommended this book to me that she found for $.99 for the Kindle, she said I would love it, and that it would be right up my alley. Well she was right! I love romance and this one was a fun romance! It was fun and cute, but POORLY written! At first I wasn't sure I was going to like it cause it was so badly written but I quickly got involved in the story and forgot how bad it was. I liked the characters a lot and I liked the humor. Happily Ever After Endings and such in this book!

Sexual Content: Heavy (due to 1 raunchy scene {not sex} and some innuendos)
Language: Heavy
Drugs/Alcohol: Mild

Overall: It's an adult book (in my opinion) and if you like fantasy romance this is for you!

Hereafter - By: Tara Hudson

My Rating:2.5
Book Description:

Can there truly be love after death?
Drifting in the dark waters of a mysterious river, the only thing Amelia knows for sure is that she's dead. With no recollection of her past life--or her actual death--she's trapped alone in a nightmarish existence. All of this changes when she tries to rescue a boy, Joshua, from drowning in her river. As a ghost, she can do nothing but "will" him to live. Yet in an unforgettable moment of connection, she helps him survive.
Amelia and Joshua grow ever closer as they begin to uncover the strange circumstances of her death and the secrets of the dark river that held her captive for so long. But even while they struggle to keep their bond hidden from the living world, a frightening spirit named Eli is doing everything in his power to destroy their new found happiness and drag Amelia back into the ghost world . . . forever.
Thrilling and evocative, with moments of pure pleasure, "Hereafter" is a sensation you won't want to miss.

My Thoughts:
So this was better than I expected since I just came across it on an ebook library since I was in the mist of moving and couldn't really check out a book. It wasn't the best book ever written but it kept me interested. Kinda creepy the characters were ok nothing super likeable about them.

Language: I honestly can't remember
Drugs/Alcohol: Moderate
Sexual Content: Mild

Overall: Eh, nothing to really recommend it unless you want to try it.

Wings - By: Aprilynne Pike

My Rating:
Book Description:

Laurel was mesmerized, staring at the pale things with wide eyes. They were terrifyingly beautiful--too beautiful for words.
Laurel turned to the mirror again, her eyes on the hovering petals that floated beside her head. They looked almost like wings.
In this extraordinary tale of magic and intrigue, romance and danger, everything you thought you knew about faeries will be changed forever.

My Thoughts:
So I'm thinking I need a break from all this paranormal stuff cause this book was just STUPID! I couldn't even finish it! It was that bad and that dumb. Sorry to anyone who actually liked it, cause I couldn't even skim to get through it I thought it was just stupid. It was so typical and beyond ridiculous!

Language: I'm assuming Mild since I didn't finish
Sexual Content: Mild
Drugs/Alcohol: Mild

Overall: Don't waste your time unless you like fairy stuff...

Switched - By: Amanda Hocking

My Rating:
Book Description:
When Wendy Everly was six-years-old, her mother was convinced she was a monster and tried to kill her. It isn't until eleven years later that Wendy finds out her mother might've been telling the truth. With the help of Finn Holmes, Wendy finds herself in a world she never knew existed - and it's one she's not sure if she wants to be a part of.
My Thoughts:
Alright, I don't know if I'm just super generous with my stars or if these are really good books! I loved this book I couldn't put it down! Something new and of course cheesy romance but clean. Well you hear all the time about changeling stories but about the human that is taken not the other way around! This time it's actually about the changeling itself, which was nice and was brought back to the world that they are actually from. It was a new story for me! I liked it a lot! I can't wait to start the next book!
Language: Moderate due to 1 F-bomb and a few other choice words.
Sexual Content: Mild
Drugs/Alcohol: Mild

Overall: I would recommend it!

Of Poseidon - By: Anna Banks

My Rating:
Book Description:
Galen is the prince of the Syrena, sent to land to find a girl he's heard can communicate with fish. Emma is on vacation at the beach. When she runs into Galen — literally, ouch! — both teens sense a connection. But it will take several encounters, including a deadly one with a shark, for Galen to be convinced of Emma's gifts. Now, if he can only convince Emma that she holds the key to his kingdom . . .

Told from both Emma and Galen's points of view, here is a fish-out-of-water story that sparkles with intrigue, humor, and waves of romance.

My Thoughts:
Mermaids hahaha it was a easy fun read, I thought it was going to be about Greek Mythology, but instead, I get Mermaids or should I say Mermans! It was cute yet typical, a story about mermaids was new for me but the overall idea of the story was not...I was a little surprised but the abrupt ending which means there is going to be a sequal (grrrrr). My little sister liked it a lot but for me it was just nothing new.

Language: Mild (I think)
Sexual Content: Moderate since they talk a lot about mermaids and mating (weird).
Drugs/Alcohol: mild

Overall: If you want an easy cheesy read, sure.

Awake At Dawn - By: C.C. Hunter

My Rating: 2.5
Book Description:
From the moment Kylie Galen arrived at Shadow Falls Camp, she’s had one burning question: What am I? Surrounded by vampires, werewolves, shape-shifters, fairies and witches, Kylie longs to figure out her own supernatural identity…and what her burgeoning powers mean. And now she’ll need them more than ever, because she’s being haunted by a new spirit who insists that someone Kylie knows—and loves—will die before the end of the summer. If only she only knew who she was supposed to save. And how…

But giving Kylie the most trouble is her aching heart. Gorgeous werewolf Lucas left camp with another girl, but he’s still visiting Kylie in her dreams. And Derek, a sexy half Fae who’s always been there for her when she needed him, is pushing to get more serious—and growing impatient, especially when Lucas returns. Kylie knows she needs to decide between the boys, and it’s tearing her up inside.

Yet romance will have to wait, because something from the dark side of the supernatural world is hiding in Shadow Falls. It’s about to threaten everything she holds dear…and bring her closer to her destiny

My Thoughts:
So I'm reading it cause I just want to know what happens. It's kept me interested just in the story which is good but overall I won't recommend it cause it's just one of those sexually frustrated young adult books where teenage hormones are DRIPPING off the pages.

Sexual Content: Moderate to Heavy
Language: Moderate
Drugs/Alcohol: Mild

Overall: Eh, it's a fun story but be warned...

Embrace - By: Jessica Shirvington

My Rating:
Book Description:
It starts with a whisper: “It’s time for you to know who you are…”

Violet Eden dreads her seventeenth birthday. After all, it’s hard to get too excited about the day that marks the anniversary of your mother’s death. As if that wasn’t enough, disturbing dreams haunt her sleep and leave her with very real injuries. There’s a dark tattoo weaving its way up her arms that wasn’t there before.

Violet is determined to get some answers, but nothing could have prepared her for the truth. The guy she thought she could fall in love with has been keeping his identity a secret: he’s only half-human—oh, and same goes for her.

A centuries-old battle between fallen angels and the protectors of humanity has chosen its new warrior. It’s a fight Violet doesn’t want, but she lives her life by two rules: don’t run and don’t quit. When angels seek vengeance and humans are the warriors, you could do a lot worse than betting on Violet Eden…

My Thoughts:
So, I enjoyed it. For a paranormal it was fun. I thought the author did a really good job in the aspect of Angels and the hierarchy for what you find in the Bible.
I was VERY hesitant about reading this book because it was about Angels; simply because I think it's been overdone but I was pleasantly surprised.
Love triangles are the thing and it's kinda annoying. I can't tell which one the author will go with, I have an idea but not sure. I think I'm going for the Dark Angel haha.
I didn't care much for the main character, I thought she was a but ridiculous at first but then later you really find out why which I thought was clever but then she just seemed kinda over the top with her emotions. Overall it wasn't bad...

Language: moderate
Sexual Content: moderate leaning towards heavy
Drug/Alcohol Content: mild

Recommend? eh, maybe...
