[Interview] 2PM Wooyoung on Elle Mangazine's August Issue


2PM‘s Wooyoung recently participated in a photo shoot and interview with Elle magazine to talk about his latest album 23, MALE, SINGLE. The singer dons simplistic black and white outfits in the pictorial and the only color present is his bronze skin tone.

Although many would deem that Wooyoung would feel ecstatic to make his solo debut, the solo artist revealed that he felt nervous as to how his band members would respond. He revealed: "It's true that I worried, but I was soon touched and overwhelmed when the 2PM members positively cheered on me and sent me encouraging messages."

When it comes to work, Wooyoung gets down to business. Wooyoung told Elle that he takes his job seriously. He said: "When I talk about dance and music, I think about the countless hours that were spent to achieve my drams that I can't joke around about it."

A recent investigative report on idol stars and the selling of their personal phone numbers is shocking viewers.

In the July 25 episode of SBS’ One Night of TV Entertainment, the show investigated allegations that online cafes were acting as venues for individuals to sell and purchase the personal phone numbers of idol stars.

To find out, one reporter for the show was seen personally calling one of these café sites' contacts and when asked about the SNSD members’ phone numbers the seller responded, “We have them all [the phone numbers] and each member’s number is 5,000 Korean won.

The seller even added, “If you buy a lot we’ll give you a discount or additional numbers. If you purchase all the SNSD members’ numbers we will give you 2PM’s Taecyeon and Chansung’s numbers for free.

Asked about how the seller was able to find the numbers, the seller shared, “We have people associated with broadcasting companies who sell them to us and there are also sasaeng fans who disclose the numbers on online cafes.

The broadcast of the report was followed by comments from netizens who wrote, “This is truly shocking! They should be arrested”, “People who purchase these numbers are not true fans” and “These idol stars must feel so violated.

[News] JYP Entertainment reveals Nichkhun will not be attending upcoming events for the time being


Just after the tweeting of the recent heartfelt apology by Nichkhun, JYP Entertainment has informed allkpop about the the singer’s apology as well as announcing a few changes in upcoming events.

The agency stated through an email,

This is JYP Entertainment.


Nichkhun has deeply apologized for his wrongdoings to everyone who has shown him love for the past five years, and mentioned that he would like to take some time to reflect on himself before returning to all his fans and the public with a new heart and mindset.


We, JYP Entertainment, will respect Nichkhun’s wishes, and as such, Nichkhun will not be attending the scheduled JYP Nation concert in Korea and Japan in August as well as JYP Fan’s Day among other upcoming schedules. For the events with contracts involved, we will do our best to amend the schedule and cooperate in a way that will not bring harm to those involved.


We deeply apologize that an incident such as this occurred with our agency artist, and we will continue to concentrate our efforts to make sure that things like this will not happen again.

[News] 2PM′s Nichkhun Replaced in Samsung’s ′Galaxy S3 Stadium’ Campaign with SISTAR’s Hyolyn


The fallout for Nichkhun continues.

In the latest development, 2PM's Nichkhun has been cut as one of the main models from Samsung’s ‘Galaxy S3 Stadium’ campaign.

Beginning on July 26, Nichkhun’s appearance as the main model for Samsung’s promotional images for the campaign was cut and replaced with that of SISTAR’s Hyolyn while the other main model, Suzy, remained in place.

This is just the latest fallout for the 2PM member since his July 24 DUI accident which has also resulted in him being dropped from Caribbean Bay’s advertisement as well as 2PM’s television program on NHK being suspended indefinitely.

[News] Nichkhun’s Thai Movie Premiere Unaffected by Nichkhun Controversy


While some of Nichkhun and 2PM’s advertisements and television shows have taken hits, Nichkhun’s Thai movie has managed to remain unaffected.

According to JYP Entertainment, the Thai movie Seven Something featuring Nichkhun, will premiere on July 26 as planned.

Many had wondered if the movie would be affected since Nichkhun’s car accident on July 24 while driving under the influence of alcohol. Nichkhun had already attended Seven Something’s press conference in Thailand on July 19 in front of some 300 press outlets and 2000 fans.

A representative for JYP Entertainment shared that the movie was produced and made in Thailand and that the movie’s production made no other specific mention of Nichkhun’s accident and would premiere in Thailand as planned.
