Chad johnson headbutt, chad ochocinco arrested for head butting evelyn lozada appears in court, Chad Ochocinco, who married “Basketball Wives” star Evelyn Lozada only a month ago, was arrested at his home on Saturday on charges of domestic violence, according to the police in Davie, Florida.
The football player and “Dancing with the Stars” alum allegedly head-butted Lozada during what police termed a “pretty heated” argument after she found a receipt for a box of condoms.
“She has a pretty good-sized laceration on her forehead,” said Davie Police Capt. Dale Engle. Evelyn Lozada, reality star and wife to Chad “Ochocinco” Johnson, has alleged that Johnson head butted her during an argument in front of their home in Florida. The altercation occurred just five weeks into their marriage, on the evening of August 11, 2012. Lozada suffered a 3″ laceration on her forehead as a result of the assault. She was transported to the hospital, treated and released. Johnson was arrested and charged with simple domestic battery.
The altercation has been reported as being a result of Lozada’s discovery of a receipt for condoms in Johnson’s car.
Johnson told Broward County police that the head butt was accidentally rendered by Lozada during a physical exchange between the two. After sustaining the injury, Lozada ran to a neighbor’s home for refuge.
Johnson was released on $2,500 bond. He was expected to be in court today, August 13, 2012, to answer to the charge of simply domestic battery.
Johnson was already in hot water with Miami Dolphins’ head coach, Joe Philbin. Johnson had been told by Philbin that Johnson’s roster spot could be in trouble because of his behavior. Philbin was annoyed by Johnson’s frequent use of profanity during a session with reporters.
Philbin’s response to Johnson’s arrest was direct and succinct.
“We’re going to deal with this. We’re not going to waste time. … We’re all in this thing together. Everybody that sets foot in this building, we’re all held to a high standard.” ~Joe Philbin, Miami Dolphin’s head coach.
After being released from jail on Sunday, August 12, 2012, Johnson’s contract with the Miami Dolphins was revoked. When he was fired from the Miami Dolphins, he was also removed from the HBO reality series, “Hard Knocks: Training Camp with the Miami Dolphins”.
Today, Monday, August 13, 2012, VH1 announced that the reality show, “Ev & Ocho”, which had been scheduled to premiere on September 3, 2012, was cancelled.
“Due to the unfortunate events over the weekend and the seriousness of the allegations, VH1 is pulling the series “Ev & Ocho” from its schedule and has no current plans of airing it.”~Statement released by VH1.
Atlanta, what is your take on the situation? Do you think that the consequences that are being doled out to Johnson are not enough, justified or overboard? Who do you think will be willing to take a chance with Chad “Ochocinco” Johnson for their NFL team? What do you think is next for Chad Johnson?
