Nerissa Thomas has called 911 at least 1,000 times, Pompano Beach woman arrested for major misuse of 911, A Pompano Beach woman who authorities say has called 911 over 1,000 times in the past few months to yell obscene and racial remarks was arrested Tuesday. Nerissa Thomas, 44, is facing 15 counts of misuse of 911, according to a Broward Sheriff's Office arrest report.
According to the report, over 100 calls were placed to 911 on March 20 from two cell phones registered to Thomas. When the caller stopped answering, the voice mail message gave Thomas' name, the report said. The report said 15 calls to 911 were made on Monday from one of the phones registered to Thomas, and said she has called 911 at least 1,000 times in the last few months."The suspect calls yelling obscene, racial and inflammatory remarks," the report said.
Officers used a "cell phone trace locator" to narrow down the area where the calls were coming from, and left their business card with a property manager in the area to call police if they saw Thomas, the report said.
